Spatial Analysis Group Otago (SAGO) is part of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand. It was formed in 2019 to provide a focal point for the development of statistical methodology (and application thereof) relevant to the analysis of spatial and spatiotemporal data, as well as to provide a training hub for postgraduates working on relevant problems.

A current research focus, driven by recent success in securing a Marsden Fund research grant (19-UOO-191; Royal Society of New Zealand), is to develop new methodology to better distinguish between deterministic and stochastic effects in spatial point patterns. For more information on this and other pursuits, see Research.
